Susan G


Susan G, best known for her smash hits; Mr. Music Man and Soca Addict is no stranger to the Calypso Forum family. Susan has made international appearances on stages including the Cayman Islands, Columbia, across the United States and Canada. Susan G. started her singing career as a background vocalist in Barbados with the Battle Ground calypso tent and lead vocalist with the pop band Sauvage. In Barbados she also worked with the likes of Red Plastic Bag, Gabby and Gryner. In the early 90’s Susan made Toronto Canada her home where she started singing with the band Taste of Madness. Presently she sings lead vocals with Toronto’s own big band Neu Jenerashun, COBA dance ensemble, and Toronto’s a capella group Mo’Banja.





























King Cosmos

Born in Trinidad and Tabago, King Cosmos immigrated to Canada over 20 years ago. Educated at Ryerson and York universities, where he studied drama, and at the University of Toronto. King Cosmos has worked as an actor in vairious parts of Canada including Quebec, Saskatchewan and Alberta. He has played a variety of roles on film, television, radio and on stage. King Cosmos began composing and singing calypsos in 1981, his first album entitled "Culture Shock" was recorded in 1990, and his most recent entitled "Fire"in 2000. His accomplishments include being a recipient of the Chalmers Award, Canadian Calypso Monarch 1995, winner of the Canadian Reggae Music award for best Calypso CD 1998, and was a Sunshine Music award nominee, for best male vocalist in 1998.

CONNECTOR has been featured in such films as “Blues Brother 2000”, “In Too Deep”, “Ladies Man” and “The City”.

CONNECTOR continues to make his presence felt among many, with his many performances. He has shared the stage with other popular Soca Artiste such as: Defosto, Crazy, Baron, Johnny King, Preacher and the Mighty Sparrow to name a few. CONNECTOR has also been the recipient of the Mas in the City Monarch of Canada Award and the Canadian Reggae Music Award for the song, “Bump & Shake”. Additionally, in 1999 he was nominated for “The Sunshine Award” in New York for the best political and social commentary calypso. This was for the song “De Nation Cries”.

In 2001 he also performed at the Harry Jerome Award ceremony in Toronto also in 2002 he attended the Nottinghill Carnival in London England, performing on stage with well known artiste such as: Black Stalin, Ricky Jai, Drupatee and many others. CONNECTOR also did great performances at many other carnival celebrations such as Hamilton, ont and Carifest in Montreal, Quebec. He was also an honorary guest at the “Snowflakes of Pan” concert at the “Leah Polson theatre” in January 2003 where he performed his hit song “Pan in De Air” for which he won the 1st runner-up title for the first ever Pan Kiaso Finals competition in Canada.

Once again, CONNECTOR has excelled for 2003, he was a finalist in the OCPA Calypso Monarch Competition, Pan Kaiso Competition and was crowned “Soca Monarch King” for the 2003 Soca-Monarch of Canada Competition with his hit song, “Ah Feeling too” on the Caribana compilation Cd for 2003. During the Caribana, season he performed at the Caribana Fusion Concert along side some of the hottest Soca/Calypso and Reggae artiste such as the Mighty Sparrow, Beenie-man and many more. Connector also performed on the Olympic Island Arts & Cultural Festival featuring many top international soca, reggae and calypso artiste. He also did a major performance at the Trinidad Independence Day Celebration on August 31st, 2003 at L’Amoureaux Park in Canada. In honor of his victory for being crowned the 2003 Soca Monarch King Title, there was a concert held on September 14th, 2003 at the Hibiscus Restaurant and Bar, where Connector did an amazing performance before a very pleased audience, rendering many of his hit songs over the years.

As reigning Soca Monarch 2003 of Canada, CONNECTOR has attended the Miami Carnival Festival 2003 in Miami Florida. He performed at the BeeWee Fly Girls Fete, on stage with many of the top Soca Artiste such as: Iwer George, Bungy Garlin, Impluse, Rupee, Double D, Ricky Jai, Kevin Little and many more.
